Potter

I started in pottery not because of any burning desire to work with clay but rather a friend wanted to take a class.  I ended up enjoying the feeling of the clay spinning in my hands on a wheel- while my friend moved on to other things!  I’ve continued to take classes and start a small studio at home, in between working full time.  I enjoy pottery as an art form as it can be decorative, breathtaking and sculptural as well as useable and functional.  I tend to lean towards the functional side of pottery and enjoy making something that someone else will pick up and think – “this is perfect for serving……”  There is a great joy in knowing that someone has found the perfect piece and will love and enjoy it.  Discovering my personal style has been part of my journey and I like to think it will continue to grow, evolve and change.
