SATURDAY ACTIVITIES - : creating prints using pieces of nature, light from the sun and pretreated paper. Weather dependent.
SUNDAY ACTIVITIES - Cyanotyping: creating prints using pieces of nature, light from the sun and pretreated paper. Weather dependent.

Meghanne is guided by instinct rather than plan, finds her subjects equally in nature and in urban settings which results in each piece reflecting her beliefs in the unseen threads that weave through life, making her work deeply personal and universally resonant.

Photography has always been a part of Meghanne’s life. The process of capturing an object, then developing how this image emerges is a fascinating progression of creative expression. While in graduate school, Meghanne spent years researching folk conceptions of spirituality, how spirituality manifests in everyday life, as well as the interplay between spirituality, religion, and whole body health. The culmination of this work was her PhD in Applied Social Psychology which rested on her dissertation presenting the Quadripartite Framework of Spirituality. Often the images woven into Meghanne’s photographs share something with the world of fantasy, with the sacred, and that which is beyond description. Her photographic style is rooted deeply with an in-camera approach emphasizing careful composition, lighting and the use of manual settings. Currently, she is exploring the abstraction of her images through ICM and layering using creative post-editing processes. Recently, Meghanne has been influenced by painter Georgiana Houghton and her Spirit Drawings wherein she merges the spiritual with the artistic thus creating empowering and moving images. Meghanne no longer conducts research nor teaches in academia. Instead she has been at home with her sons, one of whom has a rare genetic condition. Over the last twelve years of her life, she has learned to wear new hats; that of advocate, medical care coordinator, special education campaigner and special needs Mom. Photography is a channel through which Meghanne can creatively explore the spiritual in her life; actively cultivating her artistic vision by seeking to capture the mystical and the profound in the everyday experience.
