Playroom Studio is my home studio, and I try to live up to the name. I often start a piece with an idea that can change as soon as I start. The materials, ideas, and spontaneous action guide the work.
2001 – BFA Corcoran College of Art and Design with Honors
1988 – Associates Degree in Commercial Art, specializing in Advertising Design, Northern Virginia Community College – Magna Cum Laude
I work in different mediums, such as printmaking, oil, acrylic, collage, mixed media, sculpture and weaving. I often repurpose found objects which add history and their own story to the pieces. My work is colorful and ranges from representational to total abstraction, small to large. I also make photographs and videos. During Studio Tour, I'll give a daily painting demonstration at 11 AM, and at 2 PM, I'll show how to make sculpture and two-dimensional art using repurposed household objects. Come and create; come for refreshments and door prizes!
