I paint in a variety of styles and subject range from realistic still life, portraits to detailed landscapes by oil and acrylic. Also, I instruct and guide many art students to promote artistic talents in to their artworks and projects.
I studied maritime system management and eventually graduated with a degree in information system management in college. However, I couldn't give up my dream as an artist. I felt emptiness in my life and I couldn't hold back my desire for art. Through enormous support from family and friends, I was able to open a home studio located at Vienna. I am so thankful that I am able to express the beauty of nature utilizing various shade of colors as well as portraying my life story in my paintings.
Currently, I am working on reinterpreting Korean traditional painting using cephalopod ink and water color on rice paper into the oil painting. This is a new challenge for me and I am really fascinated about this project.
My artworks are displayed at the Artist on the Green and, most recently, were exhibited at Korean Embassy, Washington DC from October to November 2015.
I accept commissions for portraits and I also offer art instruction on Thursdays and Fridays at 4:00 PM at my home studio in Vienna, Virgina.
In the midst of our busy lives, I hope that people are able to discover and feel hope, peace, serenity, joy, comfort and most of all, the love of life and nature through my paintings.
