I am a watercolor and oil painter inspired by the beauty of the natural world and the quiet charm of gardens, historic buildings, and still-life subjects. For more than twenty-five years, I have painted both en plein air throughout the Washington, DC area and in the studio, working to capture the fleeting light, color, and atmosphere that make each moment unique.

Much of my work is rooted in direct observation. I paint landscapes on location in public and private gardens, as well as still lifes in my studio in Vienna, Virginia and at the Artists’ Atelier in Great Falls, Virginia. As an avid gardener, I am especially drawn to flowers and fruits grown in my own garden. Painting from life allows me to respond to the subtleties of each subject and preserve the ephemeral beauty found in nature through the changing seasons. Whether I am painting a garden path, a historic building, or a bowl of freshly gathered fruit, my goal is to convey a sense of intimacy, harmony, and reverence for the everyday beauty that surrounds us. Through watercolor and oils, I seek to create paintings that invite the viewer to pause, reflect, and appreciate the richness and serenity of the natural world. My work as a copyist in the Copyist Program at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC has further deepened my appreciation for traditional techniques and the enduring beauty of representational painting.
You can meet many artists that share studio space with me and see their works at the Artists' Atelier
