Art has always been an interest in my life, starting with relaxing with a sketchbook during my earlier career in geology and geography as a way to record the relationship between the landscape and the underlying rocks. As I have grown as an artist, I continue to expand my techniques and portfolio, and I enjoying creating and sharing art with my family and community. I work in a variety of media: watercolor, acrylics, mixed media, fabric and photography. I like layering sequential washes and glazes on paper to create the subtle colors, textures and modeling of the subject. I particularly like to work with the subtleties and vibrancy of colors. demonstrating the beauty of natural light. My mixed media work involves layering different papers to add texture and depth to a composition, and my fabric art includes 3D ornaments and whimsical 2D art.
