Elizabeth Bertholon

I take a more emotional, soft and intuitive approach to abstraction. I use mostly palette knives, layers of acrylic color (at times with feng shui objectives), thick texture and occasionally 24k gold leaf. Waves of color, circles and curves appear to gently offer and evoke feelings and/or represent ideas to each viewer without judgement. My art is about being deeply alive, serene, and energized. The overarching themes of my work are happiness, vulnerability, intimacy, and freedom. My love of thick textured strokes mirrors depth, creates energy, movement, and reflections of changing light. Colors tumbling, bumping, and playing with each other convey complicity and mystery. It brings me peace to create and express myself and I love to share! This is part of who I am. I love to hear about what others see, feel or simply enjoy in my work. My goal is to create a visual experience that invites interpretation, meaning and/or simply enjoyment.
