Pat Neuman
Painter, Pastels, Watercolor
As a child I attended classes at the Cleveland Museum of Art. We took our pint-sized stools and paint jars into the galleries. I was hooked for life!
In school my electives were in the art department. I skipped through the years a regular student in a wide range of workshops. A week of plein-air painting with a favorite instructor has been a pleasure for twenty plus summers.
I am fascinated by detail and drawn to scenes where my favorite flowers grow. My palette is bright. Pastels are my love. I am spending part of each day with my art. The Studios has guided me with mentors in the membership who inspire and opportunities where I am able to experiment and learn how to take a painting from the easel to the next step: sharing it with an audience. For the first time in my life I enrolled in a two year structured curriculum of stepped courses in drawing, dimension, shading and value. I was introduced to watercolors. I am seeking to combine my lifelong pleasure with the discipline gained from this experience.
I have appreciated opportunities to exhibit in group shows with GFS. Drawing from my past and looking to the future, I am building a portfolio that I hope will stand on its own.
