by Edwin Behrens
The discussion occurred through a translator, but the conversation was all hers. She was interested in comparing her farm way of life with mine after I told her I was a farm boy from Wisconsin: e.g. “How many cows?”
When I asked if might photograph her she paused to turn and picked one of her prized gingers which she then held out; she realized that a portrait should show more her face.
