Using water-based media, I create colorful abstract expressionist paintings influenced by my observations of local landscapes - dense forest and waterside vistas. Each painting grows naturally through a process of mark making and painting, layering opaque and transparent acrylic paint, collage, and graphite. I am interested in the relationship between colors and the development of an interesting and complex surface. Please visit my studio where I will have a variety of paintings on canvas, panels and paper, as well as some wearable artwork and cards. On Sunday afternoon, I will be demonstrating how I use painted paper to create small abstract collages.
