Virginia Hayward

     Painting is an integral part of my daily life. I find working with watercolor media is a very satisfying outlet for my natural creativity.  Representational painting and strong bold colors are hallmarks of my work. Primarily a landscape artist, I will also paint the occasional flower bouquet, interesting person or totally abstract color work. Although initially a watercolor painter, I now incorporate acrylics and collage in some pieces.  The acrylics are used in a very loose manner resembling watercolor. This technique gives the ability to combine the brilliant pigments of acrylics with the unpredictability of watercolor.

     I am a member of the Potomac Valley Watercolorists, and a member of the Northern Virginia Watercolor Workshop.
