Lemons and Ivy

This is one of the first paintings I ever completed back in 1994.  It was based on a photo of lemons I saw in a magazine.  Since I really like lemons,  I was very attracted to the photo and tried to depict the particular shape and color of the fruit.  I also liked the curling quality of the ivy and how the light strikes the pot.  The painting hangs in my kitchen along with other lemon-themed items.
